ARTIST PROFILE. (Edward Blum). I have painted and drawn since childhood, as a form of identity and purpose. It provides out side of family the single most powerful force predominating my life as far back as I can recollect and is symbiotic of my future. I look forward to this future which will be consumed pursuing art personally and professionally. As an artist I would like to capture the human condition, basic emotion and our essence. A freedom to look deeper than thought and express in a far more powerful medium, using color figuratively and in abstracted form. A universal language defined by the human condition. It is this place in the human psyche where what we visualize is interwoven not only by what we interpret that we see. But is also tainted by the shadow of our past. A distortion of our perceptions of reality as we believe it to be.. Ultimately it is here that my mind finds interest, and I foresee my artistic future evolving.

 Although I have been painting in dribs and drabs, the last month has been a period of much reflection. I guess as a result of that I have been revisiting old peices. I seldom draw although I find it rewarding, colur is my flame.
Here are two ink drawings that were penned around 1990, as preliminary's to paintings, that I did around the same time. I guess to me they are an autobiography.

      Thanks Richard I will in the future do that request for you. One is in storage, the other I have a photo of. Your blogs are briliant mate. I had to join, can't walk away from something that beautiful and specail, and I can cross referance the other blog. I must comment your photography is so talented mate those photo, are briliant.

    it is wonderful to revisit older pieces, feel into them, remember and feel into the present moment in time. Wonderful detail and depth of feeling in these.

    i was looking at the art on your sidebar, i love each piece, they call for my spirit to walk in and wander for a while. beautiful colors!
